On this date in 1981, the Minnesota North Stars lose the fifth and final game of the Stanley Cup Finals 5-1 to the New York Islanders.  The Islanders won the series 4 games to one.  The 1981 championship was the second of four consecutive Stanley Cup championships for the Islanders.
